Spring Boston Event Recap: Getting Motivated & Achieving Success

Wow! What a great event we had last week in Boston, MA. We're still catching up and feeling motivated after an action-packed day and a half.

This year's spring event took place from April 23rd-24th, 2018 at the Boston Marriott Quincy. We hosted delegate executives from leading companies across the country including Cheer Pack North America, Samsung SRA, Liberty Mutual, The Cheesecake Factory, Autodesk, Inc., Wells Fargo, and more.

We lead off with a powerful keynote from Randy Fox, who motivated us all with the secret to winning: motivating and lifting up others.

We then kicked off with our one-on-one meetings, the heart of our Forum Events program. Thirty-four solution providers met with executives face-to-face about the latest technology and services to drive business success. They were overwhelmingly a success, with a flood of positive testimonials. Here is just a small sample:

“Forum Events provided great resources and amenities to facilitate business opportunities.  Would highly recommend.” - Legendary Entertainment (HR & Employee Benefits Summit Delegate)

“Great event.  This is actually better than visiting 1,000 booths.” - Aetna Integrated Services/Atalian Global Services (Training & Development Summit Delegate)

“Very informative – appreciated that we were able to choose vendors ahead of time. Got our brains thinking of ways we can enhance our call center.” - Meridian Health (Contact Center & Customer Service Summit Delegate)

“An outstanding summit.  I love the environment and opportunity to meet with companies 1 on 1.  Great for networking and lead generation.  Overall, a fun experience.  We will be back!” - Mango Languages (Training & Development Summit Solution Provider)

“The staff is so helpful and fun to work with!  You can tell that they put effort into making sure their delegates and sponsors are both taken care of.  Thank you for a great event!!!” -  Paradigm Shift Leadership (Training & Development Summit Solution Provider)

“We are very pleased with the white-glove approach [the Forum] team took to ensure this was a productive use of time, money, and that it was a positive experience.  The level of attention to detail was exceptional, as well.” – Intelegencia (Contact Center & Customer Service Summit)

Panorama

Our workshop sessions also provided many learning opportunities throughout the event. During our HR & Employee Benefits Summit and Training & Development Summits, we learned how to build an engaged workforce from speaker Taura Prosek, how to make our corporate communication more effective during sessions from Merrick Rosenberg and Pete Smith. All-in-all, we held 8 fantastic workshops.

Our Contact Center & Customer Service Summit was also jam-packed with amazing sessions. We learned about onboarding and great hiring strategies from speaker John Stock, the brain science behind emails that persuade with Nancy Harhut, and all about agile performance management and how to turn managers into leaders with Lisa Rueth. “Greatly enjoyed Lisa Rueth’s presentations. Worth the entire trip!” remarked a Customer Service & Contact Center Summit attendee from City of Hope.

We also made time for networking during our networking reception, meals, and gala dinner. Some of our attendees and solution providers walked away with Marriott gift cards after walking away with the most chips at our popular Casino Night! (See all the photos here).

[EVENT RECAP]: HR & Employee Benefits Summit Takes on Society Hill

Meeting 2.jpgPHILADELPHIA, PA – The HR & Employee Benefits Summit hosted nearly 630 business meetings in Philadelphia on March 14-15, 2016. For executives attending the summit, it was an opportunity to connect, learn about and discuss the latest technologies and services in the industry.

HR decision makers from companies including 4M Building Solutions, Dow Chemical, Johns Hopkins, Johnson & Johnson and Toll Brothers, Inc. met with leading solution providers offering a variety of services in the heart of downtown Philadelphia. “This event was like no other event I have ever been a part of,” exclaimed the Director of Human Resources from Martin Insurance Group, “You receive one-on-one time with vendors of your choice and get the time to learn about products you might not have realized were out there.”

Industry thought leaders also hosted seminars for executive attendees, including New York Times bestselling author and Fortune 500 consultant, Daniel Schawbel.  Mr. Schawbel hosted an intimate seminar to 30 of our attendees, the same seminar that he will later present to more than 3,500 people at SHRM in Washington DC. Topics included leadership, recruiting, talent management, management training, and leveraging technology in the human resources industry.

“Not only was this experience great for meeting vendors, but also for getting the chance to talk to other individuals in similar roles to me,” said the Head of Senior Recruitment from Suarez Corporation following numerous networking activities and meals. Delegate attendees connected with both vendors and peers during a gala dinner where lobster ravioli and cheesecake were both a huge hit! Later that night, attendees took to the blackjack tables for a chance to win a grand prize.

On day two, everyone was back to business for more meetings and seminars. Before heading back to their offices, attendees participated in a raffle prize drawing over lunch where National Vice President of Training from Toll Brothers, Cynthiann King, took home an online one-on-one assessment from Taking Flight Learning. Other winners included Rene Persin of Hartford Funds and Patrick Paul of Anderson Center for Autism who both took home Seiko watches. Vendors who participated in the draw prizes included DeVry University, Stewart Leadership and CareerArc.

Did you miss out on this summit? Don’t worry – you can participate in upcoming summits taking place in San Francisco, CA on November 14-15, 2016. For more information, contact Event Manager & VP of Business Development Shane Doherty, here.

HR & Employee Benefits Summit Announces New Speaker

The HR & Employee Benefits Summit taking place in Philadelphia, PA on March 14 & 15, 2016 is pleased to announce award-winning author and recognized columnist, Dan Schawbel, will be speaking.

Schawbel is the New York Times bestselling author of Promote Yourself & Me 2.0, partner and research director at Future Workplace, founder of Millennial Branding & WorkplaceTrends.com, Inc. Magazine & Forbes Magazine 30 Under 30, and a TIME / Forbes Columnist.

He has spoken at more than one hundred events and has conducted 27 primary research studies focused on workplace trends and has interviewed more than 1,500 people to date.

Topics for discussion at March's Summit include:

  • The Leadership Imperative: How to Find, Engage & Develop the Next Generation of Leaders
In the next five years, 20 million baby boomers will retire, leaving institutions worldwide without leadership positions filled. Almost half of companies haven't even analyzed the impact of this impeding trend on their workforce and fewer than one fourth of companies have made succession planning a priority. To make matters worse, millenials are switching companies every two years. In this discussion, you will hear about the top ways you can engage with the next generation of leaders so you can retain and fill your executive level positions, view groundbreaking new global research that will instruct you how to create the right leadership, training and succession planning programs that support future leaders, and listen to case studies from forward-thinking companies on how to create next generation corporate leadership programs.
  • Building the Workforce of Tomorrow: How to Recruit, Retain & Grow Your Young Talent
Restless Gen-Y workers - often faced with unfulfilling or static positions - frequently leave their posts within two years. But as Millennials become the dominant generation in the office - set to represent 75 percent of the entire workforce by 2025 - companies must learn to keep them engaged and motivated by creating more opportunities for them. How can corporations retain young workers? In this presentation geared toward HR leaders and managers, speaker Dan Schawbel shares advice, research, case studies (including Sodexo, Ernst & Young, Intel, DreamWorks, and more), and examples to illustrate how employers can both attract and manage Gen-Y workers to allow them to rise up to leadership positions instead of leaving for other opportunities.

The HR & Employee Benefits Summit is the most productive and complimentary networking event for senior-level HR executives. Unlike a traditional convention or trade show, this summit introduces executives to solution providers during one-on-one targeted meetings. All meetings are pre-arranged and are strategically coordinated based on upcoming projects and interests. A seminar program at the summit offers educational opportunities and peer-to-peer networking is incorporated over meals and receptions.

What We're Doing Behind The Scenes

Countdown-SDbw.gifThe HR & Employee Benefits Summit will kick off in less than one month, on September 14th and 15th at the Ritz-Carlton, New-Orleans. For those that have taken advantage of the complimentary registration, you are aware of the event’s progress thus far – but over the next few weeks, the real fun will begin!

Behind the scenes, a team of event managers and coordinators is working to facilitate the needs of all attendees. This process includes everything from operational processes like hotel and room reservations and gala dinner menus, to last-minute correspondence with attendees – all to ensure the smoothest possible matching process.

Just two weeks before the event (around the first week of September), each attendee will receive a catalog of confirmed solution providers and seminars via email. You will have to digitally select the solution providers that stand out to you, along with the seminars you would like to attend.

When attendees submit this information – it initiates the matching process. This is the most crucial step for the success of the event! Using this information, the HR & Employee Benefits team begins building each attendee's personal itinerary, taking into account individual upcoming projects, selected providers and chosen seminars.

During registration at the Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans, each attendee will receive their itinerary along with their event program and will finally be able to put a face to the name of the HR & Employee Benefits Summit Team!

Should you have any questions regarding your attendance at the Summit, or would like to join us at the event as a last-minute participant, please reach out to Event Manager Shane Doherty at shane.doherty@forumevents.com
